Day 2 - Defining your perfect morning
Here is my question for you this ‘perfect’ morning…
What’s most important to you?
What is the one thing you greatly desire to experience daily, that you believe would make a big difference in the quality of your life – but you just can’t seem to find and make the time for?
In short, what supportive practice do you want to develop that might make a beneficial impact on your life?
Think about this for a moment. It could be in any area of your life from eating healthy and exercise, to self-improvement or getting ahead in business or at your job.
It might be spending more time with your children, finding time for creative pursuits, or getting into the habit of reading every morning.
Refer to the Wheel of Life…
1. Health
2. Personal Development
3. Spiritual
4. Family
5. Friends
6. Finances
7. Fun and Recreation
8. Career
Once you have discovered what you would like to focus on, to improve, and what’s most important to you, we’ll explore together how you can integrate it as part of your morning routine makeover.
Sit back and imagine your perfect morning…
It isn’t stressed or rushed, but instead “goes with the flow”. It’s a day that allows time for everything on your list. Maybe it means having time for an extended shower or pampering bubble bath. Maybe it’s going for a power-walk before breakfast. Maybe it’s having a few minutes to connect with your spouse over breakfast, or maybe it’s carving out an hour first thing in the morning to work on a side-project.
That’s tons of “maybes”, but the key is to start out with what’s most important to you and consider how you’ll fit it into your morning routine.
Remember, at this stage, you’re just dreaming and imagining your perfect morning. Within the next 7 days, we’ll work on making over your new morning routine to include what’s important to you. For now, simply visualize what your new morning could look like.
Envision and become very clear on what you want your perfect morning to be. Include as much detail as possible – by incorporating all your senses – colours, scents, sounds, feelings, etc.
Journal or Create a Personal Vision Board
Write it down in a journal or notebook that you can refer back to as a reference or reminder. You may also want to create a personal vision board with images, items and phrases that resonate with your vision. In short, define your perfect morning.
Why is doing this so important?
Because you can’t begin to realize any significant and beneficial changes until you are clear about what your aspirations are. You need to understand your destination before you begin to pave a path and figure out how you’ll get there.
That’s what today’s task is all about. It’s deciding where you want to get to. Don’t stop until you’ve got what you truly want identified and firmly pictured in your mind.
Tomorrow, on Day #3, check your Inbox to begin the process of finding time in your morning!
See you bright and early!
