Day 5 - Coming up with a new morning game plan
Good morning! Today, we begin working on devising a new plan.
Now that you have a fairly good idea of what tasks you want or must incorporate, delegate, or remove within your morning routine time allowance… the next step is to create a new morning game plan.
Start out with the tasks that you deem most important to you.
Come up with an initial time during which you would like to get key tasks completed.
For example:
- If your goal is to go for a 15- minute power walk in the morning, you may consider doing this first thing before eating a full breakfast or taking a shower.
- If your goal is to meditate each morning, or if you would love to have some time to read a book or engage in your favorite hobby… then you might decide it works best for you to carve out some quiet time within your morning, before other household members get up.
The same applies for creating time in the morning to work on a new project or business idea.

Work the remainder of your morning chores around these new plans.
Now that you’re adding some new goals to your morning routine, you’ll probably have to do some shuffling and mixing up of your current one to bring it all together. With a little creativity and flexibility, have confidence that you will come up with an effective working plan.
Making over a morning routine isn’t something that comes natural to most people. It can take some time to get into the groove of things. We’ll have a closer look at the details tomorrow.
For the present moment, my suggestion is that you simply write down your new morning game plan. It’s easy to overlook what you’re planning to do. Writing it down won’t only serve as a reference and reminder, but also solidify your new plan in your mind.
Place the journal or notebook where you jotted down your new plan somewhere nearby where you’ll see it first thing in the morning.
For example, you may put it on your night table for easy and quick access. This action will act as a reminder of your new intentions and what you plan to do differently with your morning from now on.
Even though your plan is written down, keep in mind that it’s not written in stone. The well-laid out plans don’t always work as planned when put into action.
For instance, if you find that any part of your plan feels uncomfortable or not sustainable, then adjust it. Make changes as required until you come up with an enhanced morning routine game plan that works well for you and your entire family. Once you’ve got this designed, you can make it your new morning routine.
Tomorrow, on Day 6, we continue to explore your plan further by discussing the importance of establishing conducive habits and routines.
See you bright and early!
This is the key to love life your way! Living by conscious design is walking the path of least resistance…one step at a time.
